My life is blessed with the 2 most amazing little boys, Maddox and Mason, which have inspired this blog. I hope through the love and craziness of our family, I can give each person who reads this something to smile about! God Bless!

Nana, PeePaw and New Shoes!

On the 11th Nana and PeePaw came over for dinner. It was the night before they headed to G.G. and Grandpa Bob's house, so we all wanted to see them before they left. When they got to the house Maddox was already sitting at the counter ready to eat (he loves sitting at the counter now instead of the table). He told PeePaw "sit right here" as he pointed to the stool next to him. So, they ate together . . . so cute! The same day Maddox got his new Converse . . . they are red! He is ready for Georgia Football now! Go Dawgs!

Maddox's new Converse! Ready for tailgating and cheering on the dawgs!

Mason and Nana hanging out after dinner and watching a little Veggie Tales!

March to the Beat of a Drum!

Back on the 8th of August, Maddox was watching a cartoon. In the cartoon, the little boy was pretending and made up a marching band with his friends. They were equipped with home made instruments and hats. Maddox decided that he needed to play in the band too and needed his instrument and hat. Well, what makes a better drum then a trusty pot and pan. And, a marching hat . . . a leftover paper bag from a store. He was set and ready to go!

Practicing with just his drum.

Now he is all set, hat and all . . . ready to rock n' roll! My little drummer boy!

Waterfall . . . Sprinkler . . . What Fun!

I apologize for being SOOO far behind on postings, but we have been super busy. But, back on the 4th of August Maddox discovered how much fun just a little bit of water can be. We went to the Avenues so that I could get some invitations for a wedding shower. While I shopped with Mason, Maddox and Jerrod ran around outside and played. Maddox LOVED the waterfall as he called it (a fountain). When we left he was devastated that he had to leave what he called "his waterfall." So, Jerrod and I decided it was time to break out the good old sprinkler. We told Maddox we would make him his own waterfall. What fun he had. He played in that thing for probably 2 hours, until we made him come in and eat dinner. Oh the joys of being 2!

Maddox standing in front of "his waterfall" . . . the expression is priceless!

Before we left Maddox wanted to touch it. Jerrod held him upside down. He thought that was great!

Testing out the waters . . .

Really getting into it now . . .

and again . . .

His clothes and diaper got so wet they were literally falling off. We had to change into a bathing suit.

Mason did not mind . . . he got some quality mommy time inside where things were much drier!

Community Makeover 2009 Celebration!

July 31st through August 2nd marked this year's Community Makeover. This is a HUGE operation that is headed up by our church West Ridge. It is three days where thousands of volunteers go out into the community and love on people and just help as Jesus would do if he was here. This year there were 35 churches involved, over 3500 volunteers working on over 300 projects throughout northwest Atlanta and it all wrapped up with one big service. This service took place outside in the SAMs Club parking lot in Hiram and had over 10,000 people in attendance! It was awesome! To have all the churches come together just to serve God! Our Journey Group from church (small group) got together early and tailgated for Jesus while we waited for the service to start. It was great!

This is only about 1/3 of the crowd. This is from where we had our tent setup.

Blowing bubbles . . . what fun. Thanks Carolyn!

What a happy boy!

This is Dan and his precious little girl. Dan went to Africa with Jerrod.

Maddox loves being on daddy's shoulders.

When people in the crowd raised their hand in praise, Maddox did too. We have a picture of him doing this last year too. So cute!

Mason got worn out towards the end. Poor baby.

Maddox was literally standing on my belly and jumping for joy.

Kenna, Kyra and Maddox danced together. They were precious.

Growing Up Too Fast!

Last week we took both Maddox and Mason to the doctor for checkups. Maddox turned 2 years and Mason had turned 4 months. I always love taking them to the checkups just to see how much they have grown and it always seems to amaze me. I never get used to how fast little people grow! Maddox was 35 1/4 inches long and weighed 27 pounds. Mason was 25 1/2 inches long and 16 pounds. WOW!! And on top of that Mason is eating solid foods now and we are working on potty training with Maddox. Mason eats like a champ . . . no questions about that if you see what his weight is! Maddox is also doing well with the potty. Some days are better than others, but he has pooped and peepeed in the potty so we are doing well. Last, Mason has started trying to sit up. If I get him in the little tripod position with his feet touching and making a triangle and his hands on the ground, he can sit forever . . . it is so cute!

Green beans . . . Mason's first attempt at food. Not too bad!

Look at Mason sitting up . . . he looks so proud!

I thought this was so precious! Maddox got up in his little chair and got eye level with Mason. He started talking to him and carrying on a little conversation. Adorable!!

That is my big boy eating a sundae.

Look how happy he looks.

This is great! Maddox wanted to hold Mason which we normally do on the couch sitting but since he was already on the floor, Jerrod placed Mason on top of him. Maddox could not stop laughing and Mason wasn't sure what to think.

Quick Stop in McRae

When we left the beach on Saturday, we headed to Jerrod's parents' house in McRae, GA. It has been a while since we have been down to visit them and a much needed stop. It was a quick visit, but I am glad we got to see them. Maddox always has such a great time there. Since he loves the outdoors so much, this is heaven to him. Horses, sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens, dogs, oh my! Mason gets lots of love and attention and Maddox helps Pa around the farm.

Maddox helping Pa get the animals water. Maddox saw him doing it and ran over to him and said, "Pa, I hold it." So cute!

Mason got so comfortable with Pa that he fell asleep.

Maddox hanging out with Pa.

Mason and Ma laughing and carrying on a conversation.

Maddox riding Red. He got to see his pony Marty too. He has talked about the horses since we left.

Maddox loves to get in the chicken pen and help Pa gather up the eggs. He likes to chase the poor chickens too. Haha!

Weather is Nice, Wish You Were Here!

We had a fabulous beach vacation this past week. We packed up the truck and camper and headed to St. Andrews State Park at Panama City Beach! I was unsure how it would be with both Maddox and Mason, especially with Mason being so little, but it was perfect. We had the best place to stay, both kids loved the beach and ocean, Nana and PeePaw were with us most of the week and everyone had a blast! Maddox turned 2 while we were there and Mason 4 months. Crazy! Me and my obsessed picture taking self ended up with over 500 pictures from the trip. Insane I know, but I love taking pictures and capturing memories. So, needless to say, this is just a sample of what was taken! (Even though it is more than I normally post) Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed our vacation!

The view we woke up to Monday, July 20!

Maddox helping PeePaw push the wagon to the beach. So cute!

He was SO excited!

I loved Mason's surfer shirts, board shorts and hats. What a cutie!

He loved the water!

I think Maddox ate as much sand as he did lunch everyday! He could have cared less.

Monday night at Pier Park . . . too cute!

We went to the Treasure Ship. They have someone that paints the kids. Maddox got a birthday cake on his arm. He was SO proud of it!

He loved being thrown in the air. He wore me out. Maddox called it 1-2-3 because he would count each time.

Look at that smile.

The ducks again! haha

We cannot wait to go back again next year! What fun it will be with both boys running around by then. We are so blessed!
