Back on January 13th we took the boys and cousin Hudson to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch and a little fun. They had a blast! Maddox got hooked on the train game (of course), Mason loved riding the Stuart Little car and Hudson enjoyed riding the horse.

I know that my blog has been severely neglected since Christmas. I have no excuse other than being a wife, a mom, a full time student, observing in the elementary field and everything that goes along with all of those aspects of my life. Over the last few months when I have thought about trying to catch up on activities it has made me cringe because I knew I was SO far behind. So, I am going to start trying to catchup. I will highlight the main and fun events and hopefully in the next day or two can get to the present. So, here it goes . . .

First of all we had a wonderful Christmas! We were able to see much of our family and the kids had SO much fun. Mason was under the weather, but still tried to be his fun loving self. Below are a few pictures from a wonderful holiday.

The day after Christmas, December 26th, we celebrated PeePaw's 60th birthday (my dad). We have a family gathering of Gramme and Grandpa, the South Carolina bunch (my mom's sister and and family) and all the girls and families . . . including Anslie and her family from NJ. They got to the party at around 10pm, after some car trouble . . . but they made it. Fun times!

On December 30th, we celebrated Nana's birthday (my mom). Anslie and family were already in Florida visiting his family and Andy and Jerrod were working so me and the boys went to celebrate.

On January 1, 2010, we brought in the new year by heading to McRae. We spent time with Jerrod's parents, went to the family get together in Sylvania for a belated Christmas and stopped to see Memaw as well. It was great to see everyone and we had a good time.

Mason's 1st Haircut!

On December 21st we took Mason for his 1st haircut! At only 9 months old, he definitely needed it. We took him where we take Maddox, Pigtails and Crewcuts. Our favorite lady, Keisha, was not there that day, but Ms. Swan cut his hair. He did GREAT!!!

Some good friends of ours, the Pervorse's, came to dinner at our house on December 20th. Jerrod and Dan met on the trip to Africa last June. They hit it off and were buddies while in Africa. We have kept in touch ever sense. We just love the whole family and all get along so well. Due to hectic schedules we don't see them often enough, but it is so much fun when we do.

On December 19th, we went to a Christmas party at Ginny and Wayne's house. Jerrod was working, but Maddox and Mason went with me. We had a blast. We had a wonderful dinner, hung out and exchanged gifts. This is an annual event and such a great time!

Christmas Fun at Preschool!

Back on December 17th, Maddox had his Christmas party at school. They made reindeer puppets, ate pizza and cookies and exchanged books with each other! It was a lot of fun! Jerrod was not able to make it, but Mason slept through it, so it was nice to give Maddox my full attention at his party. Maddox gave all his classmates candy trains that we made too.

Thanksgiving Fun in McRae!

OK, I know I am a little behind, but wanted to tell you all about our Thanksgiving trip to Jerrod's parents' house in McRae this year. It was a beautiful cool fall weekend and we were fortunate enough to get to spend a few days down there instead of just the holiday. It is always relaxing and enjoyable. Maddox is in heaven around all of the animals and this year there was a 8 week old puppy that he enjoyed playing with also. We have so much to be thankful for and family is just one of them!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

On November 23rd we went to visit Santa. We made an appointment and went to Phipps as we have dine since Maddox was born. It is always so easy and no waiting in line! I was unsure how it would go this year. We had really talked it up to Maddox and he was SO excited about asking Santa for trains and Mason I was sure would be ok. He is so easy going and happy all the time. When we got there Maddox was unsure at first, but did great. They both did GREAT! No tears and even got smiles. My pictures don't do the experience justice, but the one that the company took has both boys smiling. Love it! We also took some pictures by the Christmas trees at the mall as well. Very pleasant day!

A Weekend in Athens!

We decided this year that we were going to make a weekend getaway out of our trip to Athens for the last home game. UGA played Kentucky on November 21st. We got a room at the Georgia Center which is the hotel right on campus near where we tailgate. We had a great weekend! When we got there Friday night we had a few things to get at the store. Jerrod asked Maddox if he wanted to ride the bus and Maddox was ecstatic. We drove to the store, did our shopping and then Mason and I drove back and Jerrod and Maddox rode the bus. We went downtown Friday night and had pizza at Transmetropolitan and walked around a bit. Saturday we tailgated all day and headed to the game that night. Sunday we got up and headed home. It was nice not to have to get up so early Saturday to drive to Athens and get there by 7am for a parking space . . . not to mention the drive home after the late game. The boys were great and we look forward to next season!

Thanksgiving Fun at School!

On Thursday, November 19th Maddox had his Thanksgiving party at school. Jerrod, Mason and I all went to join him for the festivities. They had made us table decorations. One was a flower pot with "flowers" that were made out of our family hands and they also had place mats with turkeys. We had a great meal, hung out, handed out our Oreo turkeys and to his classmates and called it a day. We all have SO much to be thankful and celebrating those gifts is always a joy!

Creek Walk!

Back on November 19th, Maddox wanted to walk down to the creek in the neighborhood. We all decided to take a walk because it was a beautiful afternoon. Mason and I stayed on the bank and Maddox and Jerrod went exploring. They started on one side of the road and ended up on the other side after going under the road in the big pipe. I can't wait for it to get warm again and I have 2 little men running around to go exploring with!

On Sunday, November 15th, we had a fun family day outside in the warm fall air. We all 4 ran around outside, played on the swing set, helped daddy in the backyard and ate push pops! It was great!

Back on the 14th of November, cousin, Aaron had his 4th birthday party! There was tons of family and everyone had a good time. Maddox and Mason enjoyed hanging out with their cousins!

Looking at History Among Beauty

I had to visit a historical place for my teaching Social Studies class. We were to visit and check it out so that we could discuss field trips and things students could participate in while visiting such a place. I chose to go to Pickett's Mill. It is right around the corner from the house and I had never been there. Maddox, Mason and I went the morning of November 14th and met a classmate, Alyssa, and her son Dalton who is in 5th grade. The historical site was beautiful and so well preserved. There is a small museum and walking trails with detailed maps to let you know what occurred along the specific trails. The trail we chose was 3 miles long and very interesting. Will definitely have to go back when the weather warms up again. Maddox enjoyed the walk and had very tired legs. When the trail got bumpy and the stroller was rockin' Mason got a little irritated, but we got him out and he had a blast too.

Never Want To Grow Up, Not Me!

Back on November 7th I took Maddox and Mason to see Peter Pan Jr. in Marietta at the Blackwell Theater. Nana came with us too! I had to go to a play or community arts of some sort for school and I thought Maddox might enjoy a play with kid actors and actresses. What I did not know is how much both Maddox and Mason would enjoy it! They were both on the edge of their seats and quiet the whole time. A small miracle for a 2 hour production with a small intermission in the middle. I am glad we went and will try to carve out some time to go again. We had a great time.

Jekyll Island 2009!

We loaded up the camper and headed to Jekyll Island for the UGA versus Florida weekend. It happened to be Halloween that Saturday as well. We went to the campgrounds and met up with Mark and Amanda. These are friends from college that we have not seen since they got married in May 2007! That was before Maddox was born . . . seems like decades ago and at the same time just yesterday! It was such a fun weekend. Despite the football game, it was perfect. We hung out, grilled out, watched football, walked to the pier and on the beach, carved a pumpkin and so much more! Here are a few of my favorites pictures from the weekend . . . there are so many to choose from!

Fall Celebration at School!

Because not everyone celebrates Halloween, Maddox had what they called a Fall Party at preschool the week before Halloween. They made a pumpkin picture frame craft, ate lots of yummy food and exchanged goody bags! Maddox and his girlfriend Kaitlyn are in the same class again this year, so they partied together!

We took Maddox and Mason to the Trick or Treat Village on Oct 24th. We knew we would be out of town on Halloween in Jekyll Island and wanted to get them dressed up early. It was a bit cold, but we still had a great time. Maddox LOVED trick or treating and could not get enough candy . . . talk about sugar high! Mason was a trooper. Maddox dressed as Tigger and Mason was Pooh. They were SO stinkin' cute!

Jerrod has his 10 year reunion in Eastman, Georgia on October 17th. All four of us loaded up and headed to McRae for the day. We hung out with Ma, Pa was on the road traveling, and relaxed a bit. That night Maddox and Mason got to have fun with Ma while Jerrod and I went to the reunion. We had a great time and he was able to catch up with old friends. He got the award for newest baby too! Thanks Mason.

Pumkins, Pumpkins Everywhere!

Back on October 16th I took Maddox and Mason to Burt's Pumpkin Farm. Our friends Jenny and Little Jon went with us. We had a blast! It was a bit cold that day, but cold was not going to stop our enjoyment! Maddox is very into pumpkins this year and was super excited when he found out where we were going. After an hour and a half ride in the car we arrived! We started with a picnic lunch, next was a 2 mile hayride and then we were all off to explore the thousands of pumpkins. Which ones would we choose? We bought more than needed, but they were so cheap and Maddox and Mason were having so much fun . . . how is a mom to say no. The joy on their faces was worth the few extra dollars. This will definitely be a annual event. We will have to take daddy back next year!

About a month or so ago I called into a The Fish radio station for a contest and won Disney on Ice tickets! I was SOOO excited! You would have thought I was 2 years old. Unfortunately the show the tickets were for was Thursday, October 15th and I had class. So, it became a daddy date for Maddox. They invited Uncle Josh and Hudson and the 4 boys went. Maddox was so excited when I told him he got to go see Mickey Mouse! Of course Jerrod was reluctant to take pictures, but we got a few. I asked that he at least take one with him and Maddox . . . none of them include Jerrod . . . oh well. He was there too, I promise! Mason had a fun night too. He got Lolli all to himself! (Lolli is Laura Coffey . . . an adopted grandma).

Daddy Time At The Georgia Game!

On Oct. 3rd the Dawgs played the LSU Tigers. It turned out to be a fun Maddox and Daddy day in Athens while Mason and I had a day here in Dallas. We had only 2 tickets and thought about all going and buying 2 more tickets when we got there. The more I thought about it, I needed to stay home and be productive and let Jerrod go with Maddox. They had a really fun day tailgating, watching the game and tailgating again. They would of had more fun if the outcome of the game was different, but quality time is that no matter what!

Quick Stop in South Georgia

On the way home from Ginny and Wayne's wedding on the 27th of September, we stopped in McRae and Cochran, Georgia. In McRae we had to drop off Ma and Pa from a fun weekend. Of course Maddox and Mason (especially Maddox) had to hang out for a bit and play with the animals. On the way home we also stopped and saw Shawn, Sarah, Anna Kate and Lucas. The kids played and had a great time.

Wayne and Ginny Got Married!

The weekend of September 26th, Jerrod, Maddox, Mason and I headed to St. Simons for a weekend of wedding fun! We picked up Ma and Pa on the way and had an extra special few days. We got to be a part of Ginny and Wayne's wedding weekend and Maddox and Mason got to spend some much needed quality time with their Ma and Pa . . . not to mention the huge help they were with the boys since I was in the wedding and very busy! Maddox and Mason were wonderful the whole trip and had fun at the rehearsal and wedding also.

The facility for the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception were outside and really nice. Here is Maddox being a goofball!

I cannot believe that Mason is already 6 months old! He went to the doctor yesterday and weighs 18 lbs, 4 oz (75%) and is 27 1/2 inches long (90%)! He is a big boy to say the least. He is such a happy boy and melts my heart every time he smiles at me. I am so very blessed to have both Mason and Maddox as my little gifts from God.

We took the kids last week to get pictures made. They were really Mason's 6 month pictures, but I had to dress Maddox up too so we could get an updated brother picture! I am SO glad I did. It turned out great! The red plaid shirt and blue jeans is the exact same outfit Maddox wore when he was 6 months old. I happened to find the same shirt in a 2T at a consignment sale and was able to dress Maddox in the same shirt. I love the way it looks. They are both so handsome! Here are a few of my favorites! Rain, Rain Go Away!!

Hopefully by now everyone reading this is drying out and getting life back to normal. All the rain and flooding we experienced here in metro Atlanta was crazy to say the least and I know lots of people were affected. Around our house it all started as a fun way to have a little fun and then turned into a mess. Sunday after getting myself and the boys into church with out getting wet, a feat in and of itself, Maddox proceeded to run over to the drain spout while I was putting the umbrella down and started dancing in the rain. So much for keeping him dry! haha So, when we got home and a downpour had begun again I told him to go play and he thought that was the best thing ever . . . especially when daddy joined him a minute or two later. It was so cute and Maddox was soaked. By the time Monday came around it was not fun anymore. We had a river running through our back yard and down the side of the house and Jerrod was literally rescuing people from homes and rushing water all day. I have posted some pictures below. Let's hope we never see this again in our lifetime!!!

Well, Georgia Football has started back and fall is in the air! We love this time of year and love watching the Bulldogs play. We enjoy seeing friends we have not seen in a while, eating yummy food, relaxing and seeing lots and lots of red and black! This year the first home game was September 12th against the South Carolina Gamecocks. It was an evening game, which is always fun, and a long day of hanging out with friends. I was not sure how a day of tailgating followed by an evening game would be this year with 2 kids. Maddox has always gone with us, but this is Mason's first year! What a wonderful experience. They were great all day . . . what little troopers. They both hung out at the tailgate, making people smile as they tend to do, and then sat still during the game. Mason watched some of the game and also slept a little on daddy. Maddox watched and cheered like an old pro. They both made friends with EVERYONE around us. They had there own cheering section that waived good bye as we left. Maddox started blowing kisses. It was great!

Family Fun!

On Saturday, September 5th Hudson, Maddox and Mason's cousin, turned 3 years old. Jerrod had to work, but Maddox, Mason and I went to American Adventures for all the fun! All the cousins on the Wall side of the family were there together. It was a lot of fun and Maddox and Mason had a blast! Mason hung out with Ma and Pa and Maddox played in the Foam area and in the arcade. I am sure there will be many more birthday parties in the future as M & M grow up!

The Georgia Bulldogs were also playing that day so we were all dressed in our red and black!

Maddox Is Back In School!

Maddox started 2 year old preschool today! He loves school so much. He went to the same preschool last year and was so excited to go back. He started the morning talking about Mrs. Lisa and Mrs. Jennifer. When we got to school he smiled for a picture for me, grabbed his lunchbox, and headed into school. He was smiling from ear to ear. When we got to his class he gave Mrs. Lisa a big hug and headed into the room. I had to go in after him to get a good-bye hug. He was not looking back! My baby is growing up so fast! This past Tuesday, August 25th, we went to another Braves game! We have so much fun as a family when we go to these games and Maddox loves it. Mason seems to enjoy it also and is always in a great mood. I think the fresh air and relaxing fun is good for all of us! We had a great time, had great seats, Maddox got a baseball and ran the bases again at Sky Field. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to go again before the season is over.

Four Wheelin' Fun!

Twice last week, on the 16th and the 18th, Jerrod took Maddox four wheel riding. Maddox loved every minute of it and was so excited to go with daddy! They had a blast a stayed gone for a few hours. When Maddox got home he was beaming from ear to ear. They were able to have some great quality daddy and Maddox time. These are a few pictures that Jerrod sent me while they were on their little adventure.

White Water!!

This past Saturday, the 15th, Jerrod and I took Maddox and Mason to White Water. Wow, they have added a ton of kiddie stuff since I remember going years ago. It is a water wonderland. They both were perfect! Maddox couldn't get enough of it and played his little heart out for over 4 hours straight (with just a quick break for a sandwich at lunchtime). Mason just loved being outside and around people and just hung out. We will definitely be going back next year when both boys can run around. What a WONDERFUL day!

On Friday the 14th, we went to the park for a picnic and to feed the ducks. Maddox, Mason and I met up with Becky and Kyra for a fun filled morning! They both loved the play area, but I think the ducks were the hit of the morning. We also took bubbles. Maddox did great and was blowing the bubbles all by himself!

Family Fun and the Braves!

On Wednesday the 12th, we had a day full of fun and good times. That morning cousin Aaron came over for a playdate with Maddox (and Mason). They had so much fun! Maddox and Aaron had breakfast, played baseball, all 3 of them played on the playset, they had lunch and then it was time for a much needed bath before Aaron went home. Then, that night it was off to the Braves game. Jerrod, Maddox, Mason and I had a family fun evening! The weather was great and the Braves won! Maddox and I played up in Sky Field and we saw Amanda and Robbie on the Kiss Cam! We love going to the Braves games together. Always good clean fun!

On the 11th Nana and PeePaw came over for dinner. It was the night before they headed to G.G. and Grandpa Bob's house, so we all wanted to see them before they left. When they got to the house Maddox was already sitting at the counter ready to eat (he loves sitting at the counter now instead of the table). He told PeePaw "sit right here" as he pointed to the stool next to him. So, they ate together . . . so cute! The same day Maddox got his new Converse . . . they are red! He is ready for Georgia Football now! Go Dawgs!

March to the Beat of a Drum!

Back on the 8th of August, Maddox was watching a cartoon. In the cartoon, the little boy was pretending and made up a marching band with his friends. They were equipped with home made instruments and hats. Maddox decided that he needed to play in the band too and needed his instrument and hat. Well, what makes a better drum then a trusty pot and pan. And, a marching hat . . . a leftover paper bag from a store. He was set and ready to go!

I apologize for being SOOO far behind on postings, but we have been super busy. But, back on the 4th of August Maddox discovered how much fun just a little bit of water can be. We went to the Avenues so that I could get some invitations for a wedding shower. While I shopped with Mason, Maddox and Jerrod ran around outside and played. Maddox LOVED the waterfall as he called it (a fountain). When we left he was devastated that he had to leave what he called "his waterfall." So, Jerrod and I decided it was time to break out the good old sprinkler. We told Maddox we would make him his own waterfall. What fun he had. He played in that thing for probably 2 hours, until we made him come in and eat dinner. Oh the joys of being 2!

Community Makeover 2009 Celebration!

July 31st through August 2nd marked this year's Community Makeover. This is a HUGE operation that is headed up by our church West Ridge. It is three days where thousands of volunteers go out into the community and love on people and just help as Jesus would do if he was here. This year there were 35 churches involved, over 3500 volunteers working on over 300 projects throughout northwest Atlanta and it all wrapped up with one big service. This service took place outside in the SAMs Club parking lot in Hiram and had over 10,000 people in attendance! It was awesome! To have all the churches come together just to serve God! Our Journey Group from church (small group) got together early and tailgated for Jesus while we waited for the service to start. It was great!

Growing Up Too Fast!

Last week we took both Maddox and Mason to the doctor for checkups. Maddox turned 2 years and Mason had turned 4 months. I always love taking them to the checkups just to see how much they have grown and it always seems to amaze me. I never get used to how fast little people grow! Maddox was 35 1/4 inches long and weighed 27 pounds. Mason was 25 1/2 inches long and 16 pounds. WOW!! And on top of that Mason is eating solid foods now and we are working on potty training with Maddox. Mason eats like a champ . . . no questions about that if you see what his weight is! Maddox is also doing well with the potty. Some days are better than others, but he has pooped and peepeed in the potty so we are doing well. Last, Mason has started trying to sit up. If I get him in the little tripod position with his feet touching and making a triangle and his hands on the ground, he can sit forever . . . it is so cute!

Quick Stop in McRae

When we left the beach on Saturday, we headed to Jerrod's parents' house in McRae, GA. It has been a while since we have been down to visit them and a much needed stop. It was a quick visit, but I am glad we got to see them. Maddox always has such a great time there. Since he loves the outdoors so much, this is heaven to him. Horses, sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens, dogs, oh my! Mason gets lots of love and attention and Maddox helps Pa around the farm.

Weather is Nice, Wish You Were Here!

We had a fabulous beach vacation this past week. We packed up the truck and camper and headed to St. Andrews State Park at Panama City Beach! I was unsure how it would be with both Maddox and Mason, especially with Mason being so little, but it was perfect. We had the best place to stay, both kids loved the beach and ocean, Nana and PeePaw were with us most of the week and everyone had a blast! Maddox turned 2 while we were there and Mason 4 months. Crazy! Me and my obsessed picture taking self ended up with over 500 pictures from the trip. Insane I know, but I love taking pictures and capturing memories. So, needless to say, this is just a sample of what was taken! (Even though it is more than I normally post) Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed our vacation!

Pickin' Blueberries!

Yesterday morning Maddox and I went blueberry picking. We left Mason at Nana's house and headed out. Maddox was not sure what to think about it when I told him what we were going to do, but when we got there he seemed to have a good time. This time of year the whole crop is not ripe yet, so we had to pick around the red ones and hunt down the blue ones. Maddox could have cared less what color they were, he just started picking! This turned out to be much harder and time consuming work then I had imagined. After an hour and 15 minutes we had just shy of a gallon and called it quits. Maddox had given up on the blueberries and had started picking wildflowers. I would have not traded the one on one time I had with him for anything. And, when daddy got home and asked him what he did during the day his immediate answer was "I picked blueberries daddy." Priceless! At least he will remember for a little while.

Jerrod, Maddox, Mason and I had a great 4th of July weekend. It was busy, but lots of fun. Saturday consisted of running the Peachtree Road Race, coming home to my husband and 2 wonderful boys, Jerrod and Maddox mastering the slip and slide and then heading to the Schulze's house for grilling out and some laid back socializing! We decided that fireworks that evening were very unnecessary since we had just seen really great ones at the Braves game Thursday night. Food, Fun and Friends made a great day!

Many of you would be shocked to know that me, of all people, do not have a lot of pictures from Saturday. But, the ones I do have are priceless. Watching Maddox go down the slip and slide over and over was a lot of fun. He had the look of pure excitement as if it was something new each and every time. Can't wait until next summer when both boys are enjoying this simple, but fun time outside!

The All American Game - Go Braves!

Thursday night we decided to head to the Braves game with my parents. Maddox went to a handful of games last year, but we wanted to make a second attempt at taking both boys this season. We tried in April and got there not realizing that the wind chill factor was FREEZING! I never even let Mason out from under the blankets to see where he was and by the 4th inning Maddox was a popsicle. Needless to say, we left. So, with the temperature in the 90's, most likely not to get under 80 before the game was over, I figured we were safe!

It was a blast! Maddox loved it, as he does any event where he can run around and be around as many people as possible, and Mason was perfect! We started out in section 229 and ended up in section 129 before the night was over. Got us even closer to the field where we could all see a little bit better. The bonus was the fireworks display after the game . . . not to mention the fact that the Braves won and swept the series.

Daddy Brought us Gifts!

I cannot believe all of the things Jerrod was able to fit in his luggage to bring home! He thought of everyone while he was in Africa. 90% of what was bought was for people other than himself. Of course he had to come with gifts for the wife and kids! It was all cool stuff.

Jerrod had made a shirt that in Africa they call a Booboo (may have misspelled). It reminds me of a scrub shirt, but in cool African fabric. In the same fabric he had a skirt made for me. We wore them to church on Sunday! He also brought me a gorgeous cross necklace and a jewelry box.

Maddox and Mason cleaned house! For now the gifts are more for Maddox, but he will have to share with little brother when he gets old enough to care. They got a really cool hand carved wooden chair, an African drum and a homemade sling shot!

Daddy Came Home!

Jerrod is home! Friday was an exciting day. It was the day that Jerrod came home from being in Africa for 12 days. That morning I told Maddox that we were going to the airport to pick up daddy and he was ecstatic! We spent the morning hanging out at Nana and PeePaw's house and after lunch it was off to the airport. But, before we left, Maddox and Mason had to change into their special t-shirts. Maddox and Mason helped me make special t-shirts for daddy that they could wear to the airport. On the front of the shirts was their hand print and it said "Welcome Home" and on the back was their footprint and it said "Missed You Daddy." So cute!

So, we arrived at the airport at 2:45pm, his plane laded at 2pm, and still ended up having to wait an hour because the customs line was long. Mason slept and Maddox was very well behaved. He sat in his stroller and ate teddy grahams until I got a text that said Jerrod was headed up the escalator . . . we were waiting at the top. I let Maddox out and got Mason out (he had just woke up). Maddox spotted daddy and ran right to him. The next thing I heard was Maddox saying "I missed you Daddy!" Priceless! So sweet! He just hung onto Jerrod and kept hugging and kissing him and saying "I missed you." We are all very glad to have daddy back home!

Since Jerrod was away on Father's Day, after nap time me and the boys went to my parents to spend the afternoon with my dad. Kara and her kids were there as well. We all went to the pool to swim. Maddox has always liked water and loved the pool and ocean last year, but I was anxious to see how he would act. Also, Mason loves baths, but I was not sure about the pool. Wow, what fun we had. Mason loved the water and just relaxed and hung out. Maddox became a little fish. He was hanging out in the water, jumping off the side and begging me to throw him in the air. I am sad I did not get them in the water sooner this summer. It has just been a crazy summer. I look forward to many more afternoons in the pool in the hot Georgia heat.

I cannot believe that I am sitting here writing about Maddox being almost 2 years old and Mason already 3 months old. Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday Jerrod and I were bringing Maddox home from the hospital. I blinked and Mason was here . . . now it is 3 months later!

So, as many of you know I am crazy about pictures of my boys. I don't want to miss a single thing and during the 1st year am determined to take pictures at birth, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 1 year. So, Mason's 3 month pictures are upon us. I decided that now would be a great time to get Maddox's 2 year old pictures as well (he is almost there). So, yesterday me, the boys and my mom, Nana (and my crutch when trying to get 2 kids to smile and work with the photographer), headed to Portrait Innovations. What cute pictures they took. Of course they always take too many and I have a hard time narrowing it down and picking the ones I want. But, after much deliberation the task was complete.

Below are a few of my favorites. They took 70, so believe me when I say I have many more favorites! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. I just love these little boys!!!

2 New Additions to Our Family!

So, I decided that today would be a special trip to Wal-mart for me and the boys. Wal-mart is a store we frequent WAY too often. Maddox loves it because he gets a free cookie, Mason could care less and it gives mommy a good excuse to get out of the house. A few of the ladies at the bakery even know Maddox and Mason by name. Sad, I know!

A few times when we have gone I have taken Maddox by to look at the fish and he loves them. So, today he got to pick a few out. I decided we would go with goldfish because they are easy and would still be fun. We went with the medium sized instead of the little bitty ones so they would be more fun to look at. One of them is gold and one of them is white, gold and black . . . very pretty goldfish! There names are Goldy and Spot (simple I know). Maddox helped me and we put them in a bowl with a plant, shark decoration and green, blue and clear colored glass beads. They are cute and something new for Maddox to feed and look at. Maybe one day we will work our way up to a dog, haha!

Daddy is Burkina Bound!

So as many of you know, Jerrod left yesterday for Burkina Faso, Africa on a mission trip with our church, West Ridge. I am so happy for him and going to miss him SO much! He will return in 12 days, Friday, June 26th. But, I know that while he is gone he will be doing God's work and having an amazing experience! So, in the meantime, I will be hanging out with my boys!

During this time I was hoping to get many things done, including catching up on the blog entries. After a wonderful trip to my sister Anslie's house last weekend, I have much to talk about. I figured while Jerrod was gone would be a perfect time to catch up! I guess I did not think that through good enough before he left. He is now in Africa with my computer . . . with all my pictures saved to it! What a mess! Oh well. Guess everyone will have to wait another 2 weeks to see the wild and crazy fun times we had in NJ with all the sisters and kids together.

In the meantime, I will try to keep everything else updated. Thanks for all of your love and support. Please pray for Jerrod over the next 2 weeks. I know that God placed this trip on his heart last year and I am ecstatic that it all came together and he is fulfilling this calling. I love him so much!!

What a Wonderful Life!

For the past week Jerrod and I have really been trying to focus on what is truly important in our lives. I think that as parents we get caught up in the day to day monotony of things and just find ourselves going through the motions. We even lose sight of ourselves and our marriage at times. With 2 children, it makes life that much crazier, but at the same time we are twice as blessed. When Maddox was born life seemed to speed up and now since Mason's arrival, life has seemed to just happen . . . where has the time gone? But, as we stop and really focus on loving each other and building each other up, including the kids, life is that much sweeter. I love my life and love my family. God has truly blessed me! Sometimes I have to remember to simply stop and smell the roses.

I cannot believe it, but as I sit here and write this, my baby is already 2 months old. I remember Maddox growing up fast, but gosh time just seems to get faster and faster. Mason had his 2 month checkup today and the doctor said he looked perfect (but I already knew that). He is already up to 12 lbs and 8 oz. He was only 6 lbs 10 oz. when he was born! He has also gone from 18 1/2 inches at birth to 23 1/2 inches. Amazing!!! I think he is trying to race with Maddox because he too was a cute little chunk when he was a baby. What can I say, I birth small babies, but they fatten up fast. Someone told me a few weeks ago that I must have cream in my milk. He has also really started "talking" and showing many expressions. He is such a great baby.

Well, after many many many hours and days of hard work in the hot sun, Jerrod has finished the playset! I know that this will be the location of many fun afternoons in the sun and Jerrod deserves a big thank you for it. It took 3 1/2 hours to take it apart, not to mention the hours to pressure wash, stain, put back together and build the barrier around it so that we could fill with wood carpet (very finely ground mulch to help make any possible falls just a little softer). I wish I had one of these in my backyard growing up . . . what fun!!!

Big thanks to Dan, Dad, Josh and Whitley for the help in various parts of this extraordinary task I put Jerrod up to. We love our friends and family!

While in Pinehurst we went to a farm to pick strawberries! Maddox thought it was pretty neat. While we were there we shopped in the little country store and ate homemade strawberry ice cream! It was made with their strawberries . . . yum yum!!!

The park in Pinehurst was amazing! If you could think of it, they had it. It was by far the largest and coolest playground I have ever seen. Maddox loved it . . . so did I! Haha

This past long weekend I took the boys to see my grandparents, their great grandparents!!! While Jerrod had to work, my mom, dad, Maddox, Mason and I loaded up the Durango and headed for Pinehurst, NC. Although it was a long car ride, especially for an active almost 2 year old, both boys did great! When we got there we had a blast. Our 4 days were full of fun and excitement. We went to the biggest playground I have ever seen, to the Pinehurst Country Club, a farm to pick strawberries, out to eat and just ran around time and enjoyed being with family! Maddox has attended preschool at Lost Mountain Baptist Church this year. It allowed him some kid time and me some "get things done" time. I thought as a stay at home mom I would have time to do things . . . boy was I wrong. There is so much to do, always! But, the school year has ended and summer has arrived. He will be moving on up to the 2 year old class next year. I know he is looking forward to it because he continues to ask about school every day.

Last Wednesday we had his end of the year party. Jerrod, Mason and I went and hung out. They had playtime, decorated their tablecloth (paper) for the party and we had pizza, fruit cups and cookies . . . a child's delight for lunch! It is amazing how fast children grow.

With Mason's arrival to our wonderful family, I at times question whether or not each kid is getting enough attention. I knew I would not be able to give Mason as much as I had Maddox as a newborn and at the same time would be splitting Maddox's time. This is a very hard thing as a parent. Last week I decided that I needed some fun time with Maddox. He has been such a great big brother so far and I wanted to give him my undivided attention. I decided we would make sugar cookies! His favorite! Oh what fun it was. Maddox not only got some attention, we had a blast and he really enjoyed helping. He mixed the batter, helped place them on the pan, iced them (and ate just as much icing himself), and then shook the sprinkles on for the finishing touch. What a blast it was (not to mention the sweet victory of eating the cookies at the end).

What better day than Mother's Day to have a baby dedication. Yesterday was a special day not only because it was Mother's Day, but because we got to have family dedication at church and dedicate our newest little one. This day was extra special to Jerrod and I because it was our chance to show off our little guy and promise to raise him up to know Christ! Even better, Maddox got to stand with us as well. It seems like just yesterday we were doing the same for him. Children are special gifts from God and we are blessed that He trusts us to raise two amazing boys!

It's not even Mother's Day Yet!

Here it is the Saturday before Mother's Day and I am so blessed! As a mom of two little boys, the burden of Mother's Day falls right onto the shoulders of daddy, Jerrod. We are all too busy for our own good these days, but lately Jerrod has been extremely busy. This is somewhat my fault since I had the idea of purchasing the new (used) playset. But, no complaints. And today as he works outside trying to get things put together so Maddox can play, a package is delivered for none other than me. It was a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The card simply stated "Happy Mother's Day! From, Your Boys". . . HOW SWEET!!!! In the midst of our crazy world, Jerrod made sure that I felt special for Mother's Day. He is a blessing from God (even if I do not always tell him that).

That is not the only bouquet I received this Mother's Day. My sweet little Maddox made me a bouquet of flowers in school made of his tiny little hands. I will cherish that forever! I know if Mason could have, he would have made me one too. Oh, what fun next year will be as they both make me sweet little treasures!

Even though I do not always say it (or act it . . . yes, I too can be hard to deal with), I am so thankful for the life I have and the family God has given me.

What a Morning!

Do you ever have a morning that you wish you could either forget about or rewind and start over? That is the kind of morning we had here at the Wall house. Jerrod was at work and between whining, crying, injuries and lack of sleep I could have ripped my hair out. But, as moms we just keep on chugging along. And, in the midst of it all we see a glimpse of the reason we do it day after day. How sweet it is to see the love between your two boys . . . brotherly love! Sometimes we lose sight of what is truly important in life, but through the fog, we can see if we try!

I decided that we needed a playset for the backyard this summer and have been on the lookout for a deal. Maddox loves playing at the park and I wanted something that can grow with both boys. I finally found one that I liked and could halfway afford on Craigslist. Of course it was in Suwanee, but I made the guy a deal. Needless to say, it now had to be taken apart and hauled home. Well, my wonderful husband on his day off was up for the challenge . . . even in the rain we had this morning. It took 3 and a half hours! What a wonderful daddy!! Now my boys will have a wonderful playset in the backyard (once we get it cleaned up and put back together). As you can see below, it is a pile of wood right now. But, stay tuned for the finished product.

A huge thanks goes out to our good friend Dan too! He gave up his day to help Jerrod . . . God has blessed us with amazing friends!

A Healthy Summer Treat!

Ok, this is for all of the moms that may be reading (and anyone who would like to enjoy a healthy summer treat). As a mom I am always looking for ways to make sure that my little guys are eating healthy (most of the time). As moms, we all have to give in to the occasional extra piece of candy or something else our little ones like because it is easy. But, I have found a new way to help Maddox (and eventually Mason) eat a healthy summer treat! You will find yourself eating it too! I have started buying the yogurt in the tubes, Go-gurt or any of the other brands that you may find, and freezing them. Instead of messy yogurt this turns them into frozen yogurt pops that your kids will love and much healthier than your standard popsicle. You instantly have a healthy treat that is yummy to eat on a hot summer day. Not to mention how good they taste . . . Jerrod and I eat them too!

Many of you have seen Maddox's Big Boy Room already, but since I just started blogging (and he is having so many big boy moments as of late), I thought I would backtrack and show it off to those of you who missed out. We gave Maddox a big boy room about 2 months before Mason arrived. We figured this would allow him time to settle into his new space. No time was needed! Maddox has loved his room from day one and made a remarkable transition! Each night we kiss him good night, tell him we love him and lay him down in his bed. The rest is history! It is lights out and he rolls over and falls asleep. Even some nights when it takes him a while to fall asleep, he stays in bed! We are so blessed and Maddox is a remarkable little boy.

Of course, the room had a UGA theme to it. We made his room one that we felt he could grow with for many years down the road. It is the ultimate Bulldog Sports Room! Check out a few of the pictures.

Ok, I have to brag about my big boy today. Each day I am amazed at how big my little Maddox is. He does things that amaze me, says new things that blow me away and continues to grow up WAY too fast! Yesterday was a day full of fun and big boy moments.

Even though we are not trying or pressing the issue of potty training right now, Maddox has learned the concept and periodically will ask to go potty. Whether he truly has to go or just hopes to go in order to get a treat, he is interested and that is definitely the beginning. He has successfully gone potty in the past, but yesterday when he asked, he not only really had to go, but wanted to use the big potty. Oh the excitement on his face . . . and of course he got M&Ms as a treat!

Ok, so as if that was not enough, he also got rid of his paci yesterday! He was SO attached and I was unsure how we were ever going to get rid of it. I had decided that we were not even going to attempt to throw it out or get rid of it with Mason's arrival, but would worry with that later. But, yesterday when our neighbor came over, Maddox gave his paci away. Our neighbor asked him for it, he turned it over and Jerrod and I ran with it. A few tears were shed at bedtime when he wanted it, but after being reminded that he gave it away and seeing that mommy and daddy truly were not turning it over, he laid down and went to bed. MY LITTLE BOY IS ALL GROWN UP!

We all went to the park in the morning and after Maddox's nap Jerrod, Maddox and I were able to have a little quality time while Mason slept. Maddox fell in love with the water hose and every inch of him was soaked!

So, I have decided to add blogging to my very busy mommy schedule! Through these posts I hope to give a little insight to my incredible world of being a mommy and wife. Life has been very busy since Mason's arrival on March 24th. It has taken some adjustments, but the Wall family is full of more love than ever before! Maddox is an awesome big brother and continues to amaze Jerrod and I each and every day.
